Sister Parish's granddaughter Susan Bartlett
Crater and Libby Cameron, Sister Parish's protégé
and colleague founded Sister Parish Design in
order to bring Mrs. Parish's favorite materials
and prints to the general public. Susan and Libby
have designed a collection of fabric inspired
by the designs Sister loved and used in decorating
her own houses.
Mrs. Parish's love of color and pattern is prevalent
in the warm and cheerful prints that Libby and
Susan have put together. Although she was most
well known for her use of flowered chintzes, Sister
always used a variety of patterns to bring a sense
of imagination and whimsy to her rooms. Many times
as many as six different prints would be used
in one room. Mrs. Parish placed an emphasis on
the notion that not everything has to match. In
putting her special touch on a house, she loved
to 'mix it up'and with this new collection, any
one can 'mix it up' using her favorite materials.
